She breaks artistic conventions assigned to her instrument. An unusual personage of the musical young generation of classical artists.
In December 2019 she released her debut solo album “Road to cordoba”. In 2024, her second album ‘Meditatio’ was released, a collaboration with composer Dominik Lasota. It presents Concerto for accordion and string orchestra and Circles for accordion, guitar, flute, piano and violin. The album was recorded with the accompaniment of the Elbląg Chamber Orchestra.
She participated in numerous masterclasses by outstanding musicians and masters of the accordion, among others: prof. G. Stopa (Musik und Kunst Privatuniversität der Stadt Wien, Austria), M. Mikki (Folkwang Universität der Künste, Essen, Germany), S. Hussong, (Hochschule für Musik Würzburg, Germany), Y. Shishin (Conservatory Sergei Rachmaninov in Rostov, Russia).
Weronika Sura performs in her country and abroad solo, and with an orchestra or in chamber music group. As a soloist she has performed with orchestras conducted by Krzesimir Dębski, Tomasz Szymuś, Nicolas Krauze and Sławek A. Wróblewski. She has presented her art on the most important stages of concert halls, among others in National Philharmonic in Warsaw, Grand Theatre – Polish National Opera, Forest Opera in Sopot, as well as during music festivals and important cultural events in Poland, Switzerland, USA, Germany, Austria, Serbia, Turkey, Italy.
She collaborates with composers of the young generation. She has given numerous premieres of contemporary works. Engaged in innovative artistic commercial projects, among others, she collaborated with Krzesimir Dębski as part of his 50th anniversary of creative activity. Weronika Sura has recorded accordion music for the films and theatrical performances.
Her repertoire is the reflection of her own interests and inspirations of the different cultures of the world, traditional Polish and foreign folk music. She plays classical music of the composers from Spain, Japan, Germany, Argentina, Poland and France.
From the beginning of her musical career, she has been experimenting with the sound of the accordion and accompanying instruments. While creating her own music projects, she combines sounds of different instruments, which are rarely used with accordion, among others: cello, piano, violin, marimba, trumpet, guitar, flugelhorn, flute, Armenian duduk and voice.
She graduated from the magistacy at Fryderyk Chopin University of Music in Warsaw in the class of prof. Klaudiusz Baran, and the University of Warsaw in Management Department. She is currently a PhD student and a lecturer at the University of Rzeszów.
She runs the private music school Rzeszowska Akademia Muzyki, which educates over 150 students.
